11-4-22 UPDATE. ORIGINAL FOUND IN NEUBULACH, BADEN-WURTENNBURG, GERMANY, ABOUT 112 MILES (180 KM) FROM WHERE IT DISAPPEARED 17 MONTHS AGO. THE PROXY TRAVELED ABOUT 7,546 MILES.
RE-RELEASED AS A PROXY ON 12/27/21 AFTER BEING REPORTED AS MISSING FROM A CACHE CONTAINER IN JULY 2021, AND MANY UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS TO IDENTIFY WHO MAY HAVE TAKEN IT. IT HAD TRAVELED OVER 42,657 MILES BEFORE IT DISAPPEARED IN MOTTINGEN, BADEN-WURTENNBURG, GERMANY!!
Ellie the Elephant is a cute pachyderm!! She has the classic features of all of her relatives with large ears and a large trunk. Elephants are scattered throughout sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia and are found in different habitats, including savannahs, forests, deserts, and marshes.
Ellie was initially set free by Sophie Venezia, in Scottsdale, Arizona, who wants to see her visit her relatives in Africa!!
She is made of aluminum, measures just under 2", and comes with a 3" chain for attaching your favorite traveler to join her journey.

It took us a while to get Ellie thru customs, but we have moved her along on her journey. It's not Africa yet, but pretty darn close.

We picked up Ellie today and will take good care of her. :) We have a trip coming up next week, so wanted to pick up some travel bugs to take with us. I think we can really help Ellie towards her goal. Give us about 10 days or so to find her a new home.
