Took Jumamji to Washington's Crossing and got photos at the Johnson Ferry House just on the NJ side of where General George Washington crossed the Deleware from Pennsylvania on Christmas Night 1776. After crossing, the army assembled in the Ferry House before marching down to make a surprise attack on Trenton and defeat the Hessians there.

For more information on Washington's famous crossing click this website: http://www.ushistory.org/washingtoncrossing

Jumanji is now on his way down to North Carolina with a fellow cacher.

Retrieved from This Goose Was Stumped this morning. We will tour him through the historic sites of Philadelphia before sending him down to a fellow cacher in the Carolinas next week.

I just realized I never added any information to go with this guy. When I first picked up Jumani III in Virgina, I toured hime around Fredericksburg a bit. Fredericksburg was a key point in the road to Richmond that the North tried several different times to get by. There were four battles that took place in the Fredericksburg area over three years - Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Spotsylvania Courhouse, and Wilderness. General Jackson died from injuries sustained when he was accidentally shot by his own men at Chancellorsville.
Jumanji III then travelel to New Jersey. We toured him around downtown Medford for a bit, and took pix by the Friend's Meeting House (the new one, not the old one - camera needed batteries). Little of real import happened in Medford, so I hope someone will show him something of more national interest.

  • Jumanji overlooking Fredericksburg Jumanji and his friend "It's a Travel Bug's Life" on Mary's Heights, where Robert E. Lee surveyed the battlefield. It is here that he said, "It is well that war is so terrible — lest we should grow too fond of it".
  • Jumanji at Sunken Road Here is a closer look at Fredericksburg from the Sunken Road, where Confederate troops were dug in and wrecked terrible damange on Union forces attempting to cross the, then open, field below them.
  • Medford Friends Meeting House Here is the current Friends Meeting House in Medford, NJ. Batteries were dead when we were by the old one.
  • Active since 1759 Sign outside the meeting house.

Looks like I'm the first one in Virginia to pick up Jumanji III. I'll grab take a picture in Fredericksburg (popular place during the War Between the States) and drop him somewhere North of here.

Utefan96 thought I'd be a great person to help Jumanji on it's way. I'm moving out to Washington DC in a couple weeks and will take this guy with me when I move. I'll be moving in about 5 weeks, so I hope that won't be too long to hold on to him. I'll try to get pictures along the roadtrip out there.
