About This Item

The new, improved Geek Bug!

This is my first travel bug. I am a true geek at heart, and computers are my life. Therefore, I wanted to create my very own Geek Bug. The point of this travel bug was to travel around the world, but now it's time for it to come home! Please send it towards Manitoba, Canada!

Well I'm not a geek but I was born in Canada. I'll take it on a special trip next month. "Life is Good!"

I picked this bug up on a climbing trip to the Mexican volcanoes. We had some great weather and were able to accomplish all of our goals... as well as find a few geocaches. I'll keep him moving.

I think that this should be interesting enough. The cache site seems to be on the side of a small hill with a church at the top. However, the hill is not a regular hill. It is really an ancient pyramid which happens to have the largest volume in the world. You can go inside through a series of tunnels and explore the different layers inside. There are multiple ruins nearby too. The view from the cache site (towards the East) is really nice. You can see the city of Puebla and, on a clear day, you can also see the volcano called Pico de Orizaba in the distance From the East (in the town of Cholula) and towards the West, you can see the church and the other volcanoes (Popocatepetl - http://www.tourbymexico.com/edomex/popocat/popo.jpg) and Iztaccihuatl - http://www.vivanatura.org/PopoPh3G.jpg, which are normally covered in snow.

  • That's not a hill! The church was built on top of the pyramid.
  • Cholula in the background This picture was taken from the Universidad de las Americas. In the background you can see the church on top of the pyramid and also the volcano "Popocatepetl". Unfortunately it had no snow. Normally it has a lot of snow this time of the year.
