This Dartmoor Geocoin is one of 12 geocoins each giving the coordinates for one of the Somewhere on Dartmoor Too mystery caches.

It is important to keep these geocoins moving so that other cachers will need to search them out.  So please DO take the geocoin AND place it in another Dartmoor geocache.  Please try to avoid leaving it in the same cache that you found it in and please DO NOT dip it in any other cache.

To be fair to other cachers, please DO NOT hold more than 2 of these geocoins at any one time.

So excited to see a new series of "Somewhere on Dartmoor" last week and keen to get started! We realised that the series could be popular and the coins start to move fairly quickly so had no qualms about rifling though DD's profile to find the ones available so far. During the week, none moved but the forecast was for a better day on Sunday than Saturday, so planned our routes depending on weather and coin availablity for Sunday. By Saturday evening the coins remained in place but the f/cast was now for thick cloud and strong cold easterlies on the high moors later on Sunday along with strong cold easterlies. But the plan had been made, we couldn't back out now and who wants to Christmas shop for two days in a row?
Up very early, drove to the other side of the moor to the lowest and easiest to access coin. We were in luck, as the day dawned the sky was blue (yes blue) and off we set. A bitterly cold walk ensued, the sun shining on Sheepstor behind us, but not rising high enough over the clouds to the East to warm us in any way. But we made it, located the coin and felt very pleased that we were the first to start on this intrepid new adventure. We are sure to be overtaken but never mind :)
