This Travel Bug is called Tiny Ted and he belongs to the pupils of Cefn Fforest Primary School in the valleys of South Wales, UK. Our friends from Appleby Primary School in Nelson, New Zealand released him for us.

Hi there Sheryl glad that Tiny Ted has arrived safely and that you have grabbed him - you need to log him into your nearest cache and log him out again ( straight away) this will generate a plot for his travel on Google Earth, and on his blog page. We look forward to his travels in the USA. I am sure that he is going to have a fabulous time.

Tiny Ted has now joined me in America. I will be showing him around a bit before finding him a teacher and new group of students to show him about in my state, Virginia.

He misses the kids at Appleby but is looking forward to new adventures.

Placed Travel Ted (36E9V5) at 150 years of Waimea West (GCJYX2)

Tiny ted is going to stay with the students of Appleby School for a while before heading off to other places to visit.

  • Tiny Ted suns himself on Tahuna Beach Tiny Ted is having a wonderful time in Nelson
  • Tiny Ted goes to the Port Hills This is the top of the Port Hills overlooking the Nelson Haven. Can you see the lighthouse on the Boulder Bank?
  • Tiny Ted comes with us on School Camp We had a great time with Tiny Ted going canoeing, horse riding, on the flying fox, having a swim, going on the go-karts and he even had a go at archery.
  • Tiny Ted visits Split Apple Rock During the summer holidays Tiny Ted went out on a launch to visit Split Apple Rock in the Abel Tasman National Park at the top of the South Island of New Zealand.
  • Waikorupupu Springs Tiny Ted visited the Waikorupupu Springs which are near Takaka. They are the second most clear springs in the world. We don;t know which ones are the clearest!
  • Tiny Ted goes for a swim Tiny ted had a swim at Cable Bay to the north of Nelson. The water was lovely and clear but still a bit chilly!
  • Tiny ted visits the Putiki Marae Tiny ted visited the marae which is on the Wanganui River in the North Island of New Zealand.

We had a wonderful time trying to find out the nearest geocache to Appleby School in Nelson, New Zealand, where Tiny Ted was sent after leaving Cefn Fforest Primary School in Wales. Cefn Fforest School and Appleby School learnt about each other through a common interest in their classes' podcasting.

Travelling Ted is having a lovely time in Nelson and certainly gets plenty of company. He went to Gloria's place and had a ride on Gloria's horse, Lucky. When we went to the library he found great New Zealand book to read.

It's official Travelling Ted and Tiny Ted have left the country!!! Well they have gone to the Post Office to prepare for their journey ( left at Post Office Monday 30th October at 11.15am)- New Zealand here we come. : )

Travelling Ted and Tiny Ted the travel bug arrived in Nelson, New Zealand today 8th November. We opened up the parcel and looked inside. We were all excited and wanted to take photos with him.

  • Jamie opens the parcel Our parcel arrived from Wales today. It arrived during lunchtime but we had to wait until the bell went so we would all be there when it was opened.
  • We find a CD ROM in the parcel As well as Ted and a travel bug we found a CD Rom of photos and messages from our friends in Wales. Miss K is going to print them off for us to look at!
  • Ruby enjoys the travel bug Ruby made a great subject for a photo with the travel bug. We are excitied about the idea of taking the travel bug home with Miss K's camera to take photos of him at home with us!
