Current Goal

  1. Have my picture taken with as many other Smurfs as possible.
  2. Travel to a cache in the USA/Los Angeles/Rancho Palos Verdes area if possible. The owner of the TB will then try to pick it up there.

About This Item

The Dutch Mail Smurf

Originally this TB was launched in May 2007 as the “The Dutch Mail Smurf”. In November 2008 it was placed “Le terrain de jeu à Pollux IV” (Quebec, Canada). In March 2009 the cache was taken off line I supposed that the TB had also disappeared.

In December 2010 I used the copy tag to create a new TB, “Lightning McQueen”. This TB was taking part of a TB race “Proost 2011”. In december 2011 the new TB was placed in “Autour du Gustiberg #2 Lacs du Neuweiher (Alsace, France). In August 2012 it was noted that  “Lightning McQueen” was not in this cache anymore, so I marked it missing.

In August 2013 I received a mail from Scalaire. He wrote that as he headed to the mega event in Quebec, Canada, a motorist waved to him, attracted by the TB on his car. The motorist had “The Dutch Mail Smurf” in his possession. His young daughter was in these toys. As he was no longer geocaching he asked Scalaire to put the TB back in circulation.

So “The Dutch Mail Smurf” is back on the road again. Now I don’t hope “Lightning McQueen” reappears also again.

Received Smurf from a third person who was not a geocacher. They would not reveal how they came in possession of the TB but they wanted it passed on. The grandkids and I obliged.

My. caching mascot Gutsy Smurf insisted we give this guy a ride with us on the KVR. We'll see if we can find a good cache to drop him off.
