Current Goal

To share with other cachers

Honeychile has become a good caching friend of mine.  Great person and she has been so kind to me and my kids with coins and personalized gifts she has made.  I'm happy to share this coin for discovery and as a tribute to her kindness.

About This Item

AMTG Honeychilie GC 1

Mid sized coin with heft. The front of this coin has a good amount of slight 3-D work and lots of enamel. The medallion shows a spider with the commercial "G" on it's abdomen. The web is nicely done as is the spider. It says "Bitten by the geocaching bug? The only cure is plenty of cache". The reverse has a brushed metal medallion that shows a honey bee and says "Bee smart cachers! Honeychile" and commercial artwork. The rim has enamel work and says "A joyful heart is good medicine! Prov 17:22". 2006. The front of this coin is nice, the reverse is OK.

Info on the coin:  At the end of July 2006, she released her first own Geocoin via the Geocoinstore, which appeared in an edition of 500 copies. Officially, however, only part of it was sold, while the other part remained available to the owner.

Have you been bitten by the geocaching spider? The only way to cure it is to search the cache regularly! This is what it says on one side of the coin, which shows a cross spider with the "G" symbol in its web.
The design of the 38 x 3.5mm Geocoin is based on one of Honeychile's most popular BumbleButtons designs and focuses on the addictive aspect of geocaching – we just can't get enough!

The other side of the silver coin reminds us with its marginal text that "a joyful heart is good medicine". Furthermore, honeychile gives the following advice: Don't forget to be a "Bee Smart Cacher" who balances the challenge and adventure of geocaching with safe, intelligent caching techniques.

So many of my GCs have been muggled that I only release new ones as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks HL

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
