Current Goal

The United States Marine Corps has been called America’s 911 force. I prefer to think of Marines as modern day knights in body armor. In 1974 I was on Parris Island wondering “What was I thinking!?”. I retired 1994 after a wonderful, memory filled career. Please help this travel bug visit Marines, Marine bases and Marine Corps monuments.

Let the Marines you meet know that they’re appreciated. Let them know that their sacrifice isn’t in vain. Take pictures to bring back memories for me as well as any other Leathernecks that might choose to watch this bug. When you meet a Marine, thank him / her. After all, when the wolf is at the door,
“who ya gonna call, a lawyer?”.

Found near Dyess AFB. On the move now to Oklahoma to be near Tinker AFB where I am stationed.

Last year I was on leave visiting my family in Abilene and my nephew asked me how he could go about joining the Navy. I said if he wants to do some good, he needs to join the Marines. We were at Wal-Mart passing by a couple of Marines manning the Toys for Tots box. The look on their faces was priceless, since I was wearing my USS George Washington cruise jacket.
