Current Goal

Pooh wants to come home! Yeah, we know, here come the Kansas jokes. "There's no place like home, there's no place like home". "Say hi to Toto". Pooh's home is our own little Hundred Acre Wood not so very far from Lawrence, Kansas, in the NE corner of the state. Any help from our fellow cachers would be greatly appreciated, as one little girl 'cacher would be very excited to see Pooh again!

Pooh belongs to a five year old (Wow! The years go by quickly...our little girl is now 11!), the youngest member of Winchester94. Pooh was released with a kiss on the forehead and a pat on the tummy! Safe travelling, Pooh!

Wow! Pooh has returned home to our little Hundred Acre Wood after six years of travel and over 13,000 miles. This is a testament to scores of great geocachers who kept him safe on his journey. Thanks to all for including Pooh in your adventures. We have enjoyed tracking his travels using the world globe in our den. Thanks especially to Gumshoe Tully for making the last leg of the journey and completing the mission. The youngest member of Winchester94, who was 5 (now almost 12) when she rather reluctantly released Pooh, does not yet know the good news. We are having a surprise "welcome home" party tonight. Time will tell if she has the heart to release him again, but stay tuned for some interesting "bug drops" in the near future.

Prior to grabbing this TB I had been to Tonganoxie every other weekend for two months. Since grabbing this Topeka is the closest I have made it. Pooh is still getting to some caches and plans to make it home soon.

  • Nuclear Pooh This picture was not at the cache but at a cemetery a few miles up the road. It is called Stringline and is a remnant of the town of Strawn that was flooded to make the cooling lake for the nuclear power plant behind Pooh. Pictures are not allowed in the facility but pooh traveled with me to the roof of the long rectangular building in the picture. It houses the turbines and generators that make the electricity.
