Hello, I’m Juanita, a Mexican Red-Knee tarantula. I’m in a contest with a black widow spider travel bug named Elvira. We are trying to see who can crawl in and out of the most caches in one year! We started our race on May 1, 2004, and we are counting our caches until May 1, 2005. After that, I can be returned to my home in Richfield, Utah, or can continue to roam. Maybe I will even get to Mexico some day! Thanks for moving me quickly to a high-traffic cache, so that I can be moved along again soon. Feel free to log me in and out of more than one cache if you can—it’s the number of caches that matters to me!
May the best arachnid win!

Grabbed Juanita to take on her way. She kind of scared me when I opened the cache, thought there was a real spider there!

When Juanita lept out of the cache at me (you'd have to see how this TB hotel is "affixed" to understand), it was a bit of a shock as it was late and dark, with the only illumination from my LED flashlight. Facing my fear of spiders, I scooped her up and dropped her into my pack. We'll be sure to find some adventure soon...
