To see beautiful places and hopefully one day get back to where I started my journey - Auckland, New Zealand.
Photos would be appreciated.
I am a "Kiwi" keyring.
Kiwis are birds native to New Zealand and cannot fly. There are five species and about 68,000 kiwi left. They are mostly nocturnal coming out of their burrows after nightfall.
They have:
- loose, hair-like feathers
- short, stout legs
- no tail
- large eggs
- nostrils at the end of their long beak to detect prey
The kiwi is a taonga (treasure) to Maori, who have strong cultural, spiritual and historic associations with kiwi. Its feathers are valued in weaving kahukiwi (kiwi feather cloak) for people of high rank.
New Zealanders have been called 'Kiwis' since the nickname was bestowed by Australian soldiers in the First World War.
