Well, was in the Florida panhandle, on vacation, and thought I'd pick up some caches. It was really hot, but I decided to brave the temp with my daughter by my side. Particularly enjoyed the find of one cache which required a long walk down a sandy pier and a scoot through the sand to pull an ammo container from underneath. Found it - Perdido Beach Bug Resort - but, sadly, there were no bugs at the resort. Drat! So I logged my disappointing experience.
Shortly, I received a message from the CO indicating that he'd like to provide a couple of TBs for me to journey onward. OK, I said. Then he agreed to drop them in another cache, near his work location for me to pick up. OK, I said. So... he dropped two TBs in another cache - Beach Treasure Kid's Cache from WDDavidson6. It was a 12 miles, as the crow flies, but considerably further as the car drives. Found the location, in a park, and pulled into a school parking lot... careful not to raise the curiosity of the armed School Resource Officer. Hiked south through a wooded area and found a path into the park. Had to search a while, but Cache-counter had promised me that the container was "huge." Nothing could be more true. Cache was in a foot locker in a pine straw covered area. Very easily found, as promised.
Opened the locker, expecting something large and slithery to emerge. Did some photography and retrieved the two TBs, which are now sitting to my left as I write this epistle. Thanks Cache-counter. Your TBs are on their way to Central Arkansas where they'll have a temporary home in one of my owned caches. Heading back tomorrow. Bravo!!!
