This is Grasmere lake, a very popular beauty spot and closely connected with the poet Wordsworth. A very lovely place to be.

Me and t’other half are up in the Lake District for a short break and decided to visit Ulverston since it’s not a great day for plodding over the fells. Interesting little town. I wonder if you recognise the two people in the photo, one of whom came from here. If anyone reading this ever comes to the UK, then I would recommend the Lake District as being possibly the most beautiful place in the world. But do try and avoid wet weather when it really doesn’t look quite so good 😬

This is a typical, pretty little French village – quite a large one – with a nice church next to where the geocache is located. I’m now only a short way from Saint Malo and have some free time to do a spot of geocaching.

On my way northwards back to the UK and thought it appropriate to pick up one or two caches on the way back – this is my first. Slower this way but lovely to get off the N roads and see some more lovely French countryside.

This cache is located in the oldest and most historic part of the village of Fonroque in the beautiful Dordogne, where the English outnumber the French – or so it might seem. I can’t believe these are troglodyte caves – I think I’d want something a bit more expansive if it was me – but very interesting nevertheless. We are about 200 m from where I am staying with my friend and tomorrow I shall be heading back on my motorbike back up to the UK. Sorry no picture on this occasion because we found this in the dark.
