Ammo Can Cube - #3

#3 is now a black Rubik's cube knock off attached to a homemade pink travel tag. 

#2 of this Geocoin is a laminated photo or the original coin. The other side has a photo of the original with the space shuttle at the NASA Space Center in Houston. That space shuttle is just a replica, just like this travel bug now! It's attached to a lion pendant and a silver home made travel tag. 

#1 was the original Geocoin before I knew that people just steal them.

And another day close to home but to Barnes across the River Thames from Hammersmith and Chiswick. You used to be able to drive there across beautiful Hammersmith Bridge but the bridge was closed indefinitely to all motor traffic in April 2019 after cracks were discovered in the bridge's pedestals. Hammersmith council owns the bridge and won’t pay for the repairs because no one needs to go to Barnes. Richmond council needs the bridge so its residents can cross the river but refuses to pay for the repairs. A stalemate! 🌉

Hello again Ammo Can Cube, I’m restarting you close to home in Hammersmith, London, and mopping up a few new green dots that have appeared. Goldhawk Road runs through Hammersmith from Shepherd’s Bush to the border with Chiswick. Goldhawk Road's name derives from one John Goldhawk, who in the late 14th century held extensive estates in Fulham.

In Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, the character Mrs Danvers reveals that Dr Baker lives at "165 Goldhawk Road, Shepherd's Bush". In real life, it’s a wine shop now. In the track "Love is a Bourgeois Construct" from their 2013 album Electric, Pet Shop Boys reference Goldhawk Road: "I've been hanging out with various riff-raff, somewhere on the Goldhawk Road, I don't think it's gonna be much longer, 'til I'm mugging up on the penal code".

From 1939 until 1999 Queen Charlotte's Hospital was situated in Goldhawk Road. You are staying in that beautiful building. 🇬🇧
