It would be nice if the coin could make it to Bavaria and back to the NC, but
I'll be happy if it just keeps moving quickly from cache to cache.
I've activated and released quite a few geocoins, but this one holds a bit
more meaning for me than most. In high school, I traveled a little in Bavaria
as part of a student exchange program. I had the good fortune to return on business
a few years ago and the pleasure of having a weekend free to be a tourist. On
the second trip, I mostly explored München, but also got out into the countryside
a little. I saw a bit more of the countryside while taking the train from München
to Zurich. And, my car was built in Regensburg.
Some of my fond memories include bretzeln and bier at the Hofbrauhaus while
listening to a lot of half-lit Germans sing John Denver's country roads; climbing
the endless staircases of the Peterskirche for a wonderful view; exploring the
market; eating weißürste with Handlemaier's Hausmachersenf (which I was
finally able to find in the US about the time that I used up my stash from Germany);
Schloss Nymphenburg; and revisiting Rothenburg o.T. (I covered a lot of ground
in a couple of days.)

Discovered on the way to Shafter.
I was supposed to go on exchange to Germany in High School in '91, but was banned by the German teacher after a harmless sausage incident. Probably for the best, would have ended up in the local gefängnis. One day I'll make it to der Municher Haufbrauhaus.
