Die Münze zeigt ein Triskelen-Motiv, das es seit der Steinzeit gibt. Die Zahl "3" ist besonders in der keltischen Mythologie von Bedeutung und die Triskele lässt sich auf vielerlei Art deuten: Vergangenheit, Gegenwart , Zukunft oder Geburt, Leben, Tod oder Körper, Geist, Seele oder Erde, Wasser, Luft uvm. Umlaufend steht Ceanannas Mor, der alte irische Name für die Stadt Kells im County Meath, bekannt durch die Abtei, aus das Book of Kells stammt (eine Handschrift aus dem 9. Jhdt mit großartiger Buchmalerei). Auf der Rückseite löst sich die Triskele in Schnörkelwirbel auf, die umlaufende Schrift ist diesmal Avroair, der Münzdesigner
THe coin depicts a triskel, an ornament used since the stone age. The number "3" is of great importance especially in Celtic mythology and the triskel can be interpreted in many ways, e.g. as past, present and future or birth, life and death or body, spirit and soul or earth, water and air etc. The inscription reads Ceannas Mor which is the old Irish name for the town of Kells in County Meath, known for its abbey where the Book of Kells is from (a hand written book from the 9th century). On the back the triskel dissolves into whirls, the writing here reads "avroair" who is the designer of the coin.
