About This Item

AMTG Tools Of The Trade LE Copper GC 1

Mid size coin with heft. 1.6 inches 3.5 mm thick gold.  Available in other metal colors.  This edition had 30 coins minted.  Unusual shape in that it has 4 pass-throughs, two large and two small. Only 30 of these gold LE's were made. Two of them came with one tracking code to be able release one to the wild and keep one in the collection. The front medallion is done in dark purple and green enamel and is in the design of a back pack.  The top has a commercial "G" and the bottom has a zipper and script that reds "2006".  The rim is done in translucent orang enamel.  It has script that reads "Tools of the trade" and "geoswag.com coins and pin club".  The reverse has no enamel but excellent metal texture. It shows a GPS, compass, tweezers, and a flashlight.all "inside" the geocaching pack. I have seen this design on Ebay but some of them are NOT TRACKABLE. Take care to be sure it is one of the trckable versions. 2006. Excellent design and workmanship.

Info on the coin: The August coin of the GC&P club was also created with the participation of gridlox, who probably developed into one of the club designers. 600 polished nickel geocoins in a size of 42 x 4 mm were minted, and there was also a LE30 in copper. As a surprise there was an additional second identical coin with the same tracking code. The only distinguishing feature was the engraving "COPY · Please move this coin from cache to cache" on the edge. The purpose of this action by the club was that one of the coins was intended for collection and the other could be placed in caches to travel.

So many of my GCs have been muggled that I only release new GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve of this practice, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks. GR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
