And then there are the Jake's of the world! I know of two....they are goofy and sometimes fun to be around when they are not trying to be the center of attention. One is a snowmachiner in Alaska and the other is a scuba diver in Oregon. I am just that sort of Jake... Center of attention. You were surprised to actually find me in the cache weren't you. When you did so I became the center of attention. Now to spread the Jake Love... Please log me, take me, share with cacher friends who will discover me and then drop me in a fun cache. Pictures are always welcomed. If you will do so, I'll be your friend for life.
Jake is is a showy brown and tan feather, tiny crab claw from a beach in Washington, prehistoric shark tooth from Florida, a shard of soft sponge from a beach covered with lizards in the Bahamas and several watch parts from eBay combo. Oh let's not forget the glow glitter. Please help to move Jake along, to spread his awesomeness.

Jake hitched a ride with us from California to Alaska.
He convinced us to pick up a travel companion for him in Nevada and the 2 travel bugs had an amazing adventure driving from Nevada, through Oregon, to Idaho. At the conclusion of their road trip the 2 bug decided to throw caution to the wind and board a plane to Alaska!
Today they did a little bit of sight seeing before being placed in a cache near the cruise ship docks where they will inevitably have to part ways as they are selected 1 by 1 to join the travelers of the human variety on their tours around Southeast Alaska.

We are here from Alaska and will be traveling through a few states for a geocaching adventure before we have to be in Idaho for our nephew's high school graduation. We live in Alaska's capitol city, Juneau, AK. It is a small landlocked town, meaning you have to take a boat or a plane to get in or out. Caching in our city can be challenging as there are only about 300 caches and a portion of them require a hike up a mountain, a boat trip to an island, or knowledge of tidal flows in order to get to a cache. Jake will come with us on our road trip until we find a state to drop him in where he hasn't been before or he will take a plane ride home with us and be deposited in a cache close to the cruise ship dock or a travel bug hotel at the Mendenhall Glacier where he is sure to be picked up by a tourist and be taken either around Alaska or to another country.
