Junior's new goal, starting 20 April 2008, is to visit all 50 states, and he needs your help! He is expecting a fun and leisurely trip around the country before heading back to Girard, Pennsylvania... but he wants to see and enjoy the best parts of America along the way! Come on, show him a good time!
Junior first got left in California on 5 July 2002. He was to get as close as possible to Girard, Pennsylvania by 4 July 2004, in time to be a Fourth of July centerpiece. Although his arrival was a little late (19 February 2005 to be exact), he did finally make it back.
But it was barely two weeks before Junior found himself at the Pacific again, except this time he was in the middle of it, having been left stranded in Hawaii on 7 March 2005! Taking advantage of the situation, he was happy to tour the islands before being whisked across the country and then spending nearly a year in Germany!
Now that Junior has been returned to the States, he'd like to visit all 50 of them while he's here. Of course, he doesn't mind taking his time, taking in all that America has to offer along the way (after all, he's got new batteries), but he can't fulfill this life-long dream without your help in moving him along.
So, if you get Junior, please don't keep him for much more than a week or two. Please take as many pictures as possible at various points of interest (he wants to make a scrapbook later on). The pictures should be serious, funny, cute, or all three at once if you can manage! When you're done, move him along his way. If you can't get him to another state quickly, at least move him towards a state he still needs by checking the map below.
As of 18 October 2008, Junior has been logged in 20 states: |
|
He has also been logged in Germany and has travelled over 32,300 miles (52,000 km). |
Junior can talk! At first, Grandma B. asked why you had to poke out his eyes to get him to talk (after all, he's a Christian toy). We then quickly pointed out that it was a button on Junior's back (directly behind the eyes) that was triggering the sound.
Junior says the following:
- "I'm Junior!"
- "Who are you?"
- "God made you special, just like he made me!"
- "Whoa... déjà vue...."

Due to some life events, I have had extreme difficulty helping Junior along his way. I have finally been able to place him in a cache in NJ. I am so happy he is back on his journey. My apologies for any worries I have caused!

hi from littlelady23! im sorry to say that it has taken me so long to log this discovery. i grabbed junior from a cache so that i could take him with me to AZ's Grand Canyon. I guess it was around sept or oct of 2008. its been almost a year since i took him but he got lost in my very unexpected move from doylestown pa to yardley. i found him in my boxes and we have finally made it here to AZ and are visiting with family. tomorrow we leave for a camping trip in the canyon and he will find a new home and acquire a new state under his belt. hope no one was too worried and thanks for being patient.

Nice find for a rainy day. Introduced my niece to the fun--I think she might be hooked. Junior will be on the way to Colorado in a couple of days--sure hope he likes the desert after being in the rain!!

Scooped up Jr this afternoon. He complains of ringing in his ears - most likely due to his Harley ride across the country. Nothing wrong with his voice - he will talk a day to my kids if I let him. I will move him along soon - after his hearing improves.
God Bless!
