Spent 25 minutes on the wrong beacon. I just could not THROW in the Towel on this one.
I graduated in 1988 and ran off with the carnival that summer after the Great Minnesota Get Together. For the next 8 years I spent 4-9 months every season traveling with the carnival. I worked for Bucky Buxton. We used to work the Steele County Fair. Our joints would be set up right behind the race track. We used to have to clean the mud from the races off of our carnival tents, trucks and our vehicles. It wasn't fun but I loved this spot. I used to take my breaks inside the vendor building to get away from the heat. The nights here were amazing. I sure miss those days. I'm including a Pic of me as a young girl in the early 90s. This is from an interview I did while working. It's highly frowned upon by superstitious carneys. I got allot of flack for doing it. But that video interview ran on channel 2 for almost 2 decades. Every year during the state fair it would play throughout the day and night. I'm so glad I did it. This Pic was also featured in a travel book. I'll never forget the look in my husbands eyes when we were dating and we stayed at an moa hotel for new years eve. There was a travel guide in our room. I said to him, " wait, before we go out tonight I want to see if my picture is in this book". He laughed at me and kept walking. I searched frantically through the book hoping to find a picture of myself. The person who interviewed me never told me the name of the publication it would be in. Just that it was for a travel guide. As I was searching I turned the page and saw it. My smiling face. I yelled to Tood," omg look! Here it is!" He laughed again still heading for the door to leave. But I walked after him as I pointed to the page and was giggling with excitement . He finally stopped to see what I was ranting about. Then he saw it. That curious and impressed look he gave me was one of my favorites. I miss those days! This one's for all my Carney family. Especially my BFF Jenny ( Bigmouth24 ) who traveled with me. I love you guys!

1 year ago today I found my first cache. It was a virtual in Lime Springs. I was heading back to Minnesota after working the Mspt Poker Tournament at Riverside Casino. Seems fitting that here i am, after just achieving my 1000th find, back in Iowa finding this cache in my way TO Riverside Casino near Cedar Rapids to deal the Mspt again.
Poetically, it's my Maiden Voyage in RUTH.. the campervan I bought to make traveling with a dog easier on the budget. This time last year I was really enjoying FORD. Also new to me at the that time. Unfortunately, FORD was totaled when we were struck by a drunk driver.. She was going the wrong direction down a divided highway. She was uninsured. I ended up stuck in Idaho for 3 days until I could get a ride home. My insurance dragged their feet in paying off my loan. The driver got a slap on the wrist and to this day has not paid restitution.
Needless to say I was a bit gunshy to take out another loan.
The price was right for RUTH. So we pulled the trigger and here we are. Living the dream! Thanks for the cache. I'm including the Pic of my very first cache from 1 year ago today. It is also one of my favorite pictures of FORD.

PLEASE DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE. RUTH has her first piece of #swag. I traded a #Romeo for a baby. Appropriate because RUTH is my baby but then again so it's Romeo 🥰🐾🚐 #vanlife #adogslife
