This virtual is at the old Battersea Power Station which was recently converted into shops and a hotel. The building is fantastic but the shops are same as everywhere. Enjoyed my walk around and lunch but don’t need to rush back. 🥗

North of London today to Welwyn Garden City, one of several garden cities around London. They always remind me of Canberra in looks and because they are car centric and difficult for pedestrians. Aced37 and I took you to a Penguin GeoArt that takes you right around the outskirts of the town - 30 kms. All up. 🐧

Friends are passing through London for a day on their way to Northern European travels so we went for a walk along the Thames. Pretty sure they enjoyed doing cache maintenance with me! We thought this was our only chance to catch up but turns out we will cross over each other elsewhere! I love things like that. 🫖

Yay, UK Mega time! This year it’s in Milton Keynes, a convenient day trip from London. The theme was Cows. Not so convenient was the weather. It was forecast to rain all day but we lucked a dry afternoon. Milton Keynes is a “new city” specifically designed in the 1960s to ease the housing pressure on London. 🐄

You are in Kent, England, chasing unicorns today. There is a Unicorn GeoArt that my geofriends and I have solved. The cacher who found them before us was clearly on something magical because they supposedly found everything and yet didn’t sign most of the logs. Six of us had quite a few DNFs. Pants on fire! 🦄

My friend’s Mum is in London so we went to a wine bar in Chelsea and drank orange wine (yes, that’s a thing) while watching the world go by. Very pleasant! 🍷

There was an event in London so I took you for some sightseeing at Buckingham Palace on the way. King Charles III is away in Scotland so didn’t invite you in. 👑

Took a trip to Woolwich in East London on the River Thames for some challenge caches. The Woolwich Royal Arsenal has a 500-year history as a place where weaponry was developed, tested and manufactured. From its beginnings as a dockyard making ships for Henry VIII, it can claim a pivotal role in shaping the course of global history. It played an important part in developing the technologies of the Industrial Revolution and was central to British efforts in The First World War. Lots of urban renewal happening now. 💣

I still have lots of new house stuff to deal with so you are staying close to home and just going for a wander around Chiswick House and Gardens today. I was looking for this cache and a rat ran into my leg. I’ve never had that happen before. Unpleasant and I’m not even rat phobic. 🐀
