Nederlandse geocoin, verdiend door deelname aan het CiTo De Jeneverbessen van de schatberg. 

De Jeneverbes
De jeneverbes is de enige boomsoort in Nederland die op de Nederlandse Rode lijst van planten staat als 'algemeen voorkomend, maar sterk in aantal afgenomen'. De jeneverbes is een in Nederland wettelijk beschermde boom. Een groot deel van de Nederlandse exemplaren groeien op de Veluwe en in Drenthe. Er is een restpopulatie in Limburg. Voor het voortbestaan van de jeneverbes is het belangrijk dat er voldoende exemplaren in de buurt staan en dat ze vrij staan; de wind moet met name tijdens de bloei vrij spel hebben. Dit om het zogenaamde roken van de bomen te waarborgen. De plant verspreidt namelijk tijdens de bloei wolken van stuifmeel. De grote lijster eet de kegelbessen en verspreidt op deze wijze de zaden.

The juniper
The juniper is the only tree species in the Netherlands that is on the Dutch Red List of plants as 'common but diminished in numbers'. The juniper is a legally protected tree in the Netherlands. A large part of the Dutch specimens grow in the Veluwe and in Drenthe. There is a residual population in Limburg. For the juniper to survive, it is important that there are enough specimens in the neighborhood and that they are free; in particular, the wind must have free play during flowering. This is to guarantee the so-called smoking of the trees. This is because the plant spreads pollen clouds during flowering. The big thrush eats the cone berries and spreads the seeds in this way.
