Ultra small coin with heft for its size. Slightly smaller than a dime.. The front has 3-D metal work of the state outline. The background is recessed. It is done in the state flag design and colors of red, white and blue enamel work. Just inside the rim is excellent detail work in the words of "North Carolina" and "Esse Quam Videri" (How To Be Videri). The center of the state has "2006" in relief and black enamel. The reverse has unusual background metal texture. The 3-D work is edge work and script. The medallion shows a male red cardinal and green "ground". Available in other metal colors. 2006. Very nice coin because of its size.
