Current Goal

Please take pictures of me on my adventures. Let's see if I can get  to all 50 states before Pengwinldy finds her next 2000 finds. It started at the Yuma Mega event in Arizona  then headed to California.  Where is its next state?

About This Item

Pengwinldy's 2000 Finds

This beautiful coin commemorates 2000 geocaches found by me, Pengwinldy.  Since these coins go MIA all the time, I am sending out a proxy.  The real one is displayed on my desk at home, next to my 1000 find geocoin and some of my other favorites.

The Black Pearl: This was my second stop of the day (first stop was a DNF). As I pulled up to GZ, the home owner was working in his yard right there. I parked across the street to see if I could wait him out. After awhile I decided to just go for it, figuring that he was aware of the cache. I approached him, said hello and asked if he knew about the cache. “The what?”, was his reply. After I explained it, he said, “oh, yeah, I’ve seen people looking around for that before. What did they call it?” “The Black Pearl”, I replied. “Well, they should change the name of it because, I don’t have the ship up any more. In fact, I just had George Washington and Abe Lincoln up for President’s Day. They’re over by the garage now. You should go take a picture”. And that I did. Right after I signed the log. Nice guy.

Currency Cache #3-Dime: this was a doozy. So many places to look. And like others said, so many thorns. Ouch!

Visited 2/17/2019 Pengwinldy took it to Kawikaturn California - 4.58 miles  Visit Log

Kawikaturn: Out all morning selling Girl Scout cookies and stopped just before the rain really got started. I still had to go for my COTD so our in the rain, I went. Luckily, it didn’t take too long.

Visited 2/16/2019 Pengwinldy took it to Trash Cache California - 13.68 miles  Visit Log

Trash Cache: Ran Out this morning just to get my COTD. Unable to sign it because the container is cracked and the log is soaking wet. Took a picture though.

Visited 2/15/2019 Pengwinldy took it to La Jolla Shores California   Visit Log

La Jolla Shores: My mom and step dad flew into town last night and after that big storm, we really wanted to take advantage of the weather. So, we hopped in the car and just drove west. We ended up at La Jolla Shores. I used to live near the coast and have spent a lot of time in La Jolla but not much in the past 10 years. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed watching the teens on the beach and the surfers on the water.

I once got a ticket in this parking lot because we were out with a bunch of friends after 10:00 when they closed up and gave all of us who were parked inside a ticket, even though we saw them closing the gates and ran to the cars. No luck.

Today luck was on my side as we found the cache lickety split.
