13/Mar/2011 ... Nordrhein-Westfalen (North Rhine-Westphalia)

Nordrhein-Westfalen (Northrine-Westphalia) was founded on August 23, 1946 by the British military administration in Germany by fusing of the Province of Westphalia and the northern parts of the Rhine Province, to which the Free State of Lippe was added in 1947. The blazon (see at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_arms_of_North_Rhine-Westfalia.svg) has been designed by Wolfgang Pagenstecher (a famous German heraldist living in Düsseldorf). On March 10, 1953 this has been confirmed by the Law about the state's colours, the state's coat of arms and the state' s flag which starts as follows:
§ 1 The state's colors are green-white-red.
§ 2 The state's coat of arms is party per pale Vert a bend sinster wavy Argent and Gules a horse rampant Argent, enté en point embowed Argent a rose Gules seeded and leaved Or.

The Federal State Hessen (Hesse) was founded on 1 December 1946 and has evoveld of Groß-Hessen (Greater Hesse) which was formed by the Allied Control Council on 19 September 1945 after WWII.

19/Jan/2013 ... Baden-Württemberg (Baden-Wuerttemberg):

Baden-Würtemmberg has been founded on 25. April 1952 by fusing Württemberg-Baden, Baden and Württemberg-Hohenzollern.

Bavaria is one of the oldest states of Europe, it was established as a duchy in the mid first millennium. It is Germany's second most populous state (after North Rhine-Westphalia), with 12.5 million inhabitants. Bavaria's capital, Munich, is Germany's third largest city.
