This description is mostly copied from the old page from when this was an allowed cache. Geocaching.com changed their rules and 'ungrandfathered' The Rock as a roving cache. It was a very rare roving cache that had Geocaching.com's permission. They changed their minds after 15 years.

This was Austin's only roving cache. The person who finds it gets to take it and place it somewhere else in Austin.
There are three rules you need to follow when going after this cache:
- When you find it, you must take it.

You must place it again the same day that you find it. Please keep it in the Austin area. Defined by me as 20miles in any direction from the Capitol Dome at N30 16.479 W97 44.4348.
- You must log on to geocaching.com as soon as possible to report your find and give updated coordinates of its new position. If you don't do this nobody else will be able to find it.
Be creative when placing it. I'd like to see lots of creative 'urban' placements. It should fit in almost anywhere with a bit of imagination. Also, take photos of your placement if you can.
The cache is camoflaged and should fit in almost anywhere in the Austin area.
This rock likes Austin and never wants to leave.

It is my unfortunate duty to report this geocache-cum-trackable as missing. On a maintenance visit to my GC7H36K/"bartman914's first 1500 hides," today, I noticed that The Rock was not at Stage 1, where I had left it. It was last sighted by razorbackgirl on 2018-02-03, per her cache log entry. Here's hoping that it resurfaces, soon. 👎
