To travel far and wide with us and spread the word about the Dyfi Osprey Project and hopefully raise some money for them.
This is Ceulan the Hawk (pronounced Kay-Lan). He is named after a very brave Osprey chick who was born in 2012. It was the year of the horrific summer storms that hit the UK and gave us the wettest summer on record in Wales. It was horrific.
The two parent Ospreys produced three eggs that year and all three hatched. However, two of the chicks died at just a few days old due to the unprecedented amounts of rain and the third one nearly died as well. But, with a little helping hand, he didn't and he also made it all the way to west Africa in record time. He was named Ceulan after the river that burst its banks near the Dyfi Osprey Project where he was born.
Ceulan sadly died in fisherman's nets in December of 2012.
You can read about Ceulan here http://www.dyfiospreyproject.com/blog/emyr-evans/2012/12/16/life-remember
Here you can read all about the Dyfi Osprey Project and the work they do here http://www.dyfiospreyproject.com/who-we-are
We hope Ceulan the Hawk will travel far and wide in rememberance of Ceulan the Osprey.
