Current Goal

About This Item

am Start

The TB shall remind that miners mined slate in the wittgenstein-area in westphalia, germany, from 15th century up to 1975 in very hard and dangerous work.
It would be nice to see the TB meeting miners or visiting locations where in history likewise mining was practiced .
Good luck to all miners from wittgenstein!

Kings Cliffe is the site of an old morte slate quarry from the 13th century. The slate was used for building in local areas, most notably, Hestercombe Gardens. I decided that this is a honourable spot which shares similar history.
