About This Item

RNLI D Class Lifeboat

This Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) D Class inflatable lifeboat is part of the Flood Rescue Team that supports search and rescue operations wherever severe flooding puts lives at risk in the UK, Ireland and worldwide. The team comprises of specially trained volunteers and can be deployed in the UK and Ireland within 6 hours and worldwide within 24 hours.

We would like the lifeboat to travel around the world to some great places and meet some of the heros and heroines that risk their lives every day to help people. It used to be towed on a trailer by a Land Rover until the tow broke. The Land Rover, lifeboat and trailer are now making separate journeys as Travel Bugs. Maybe they will end up in the same place some day!
