Current Goal

As a Bald Eagle, I am the national emblem for the United States. Sadly, I've yet to see anywhere beyond my home in Raleigh, North Carolina and I really want to see what's out there.

And so, my goal is to travel to as many different caches as I can all over the United States.

I'm excited to meet different people and visit different places. So, please snap a picture of me with you, the cache, or any locale and upload to Geocaching.com so all my friends at home to check out where I've been.

I would like to ask that you keep me moving as best you can. I know some may be busy, but be sure to drop me off in another cache as soon as you can!

About This Item

Bald Eagle Profile Image

My name is Ameen and I'm the original creator of this Travel Bug. This small Bald Eagle was hand-carved out of Maple wood and hand-painted too. I'll be having my Eagle Court of Honor in less than a week on December 11th, 2019. And so, I decided to let this Bald Eagle free to celebrate the occasion and carry on the spirit of scouting!

If you look at the bottom of the Travel Bug, you'll see four silver lines and a single bronze line, followed by the number 88. Those lines are meant to symbolize the number of Eagle Palms I'll be awarded (4 Silver Palms and 1 Bronze Palm). Eagle Palms are given to scouts for the merit badges they complete beyond the required amount. A silver palm signifies 15 extra Merit Badges each, a gold palm signifies 10 extra Merit Badges each, and a bronze palm signifies 5 extra Merit Badges each. The number 88 stands for the number of Merit Badges I currently have (as of December 2019).

I'm also letting out this Travel Bug for the Geocaching Merit Badge. Requirement #8 asks that scouts make a scout-related Trave Bug and track it for 30 days. So, please help my Bald Eagle explore as many different caches as he can.
