Hallo, ich bin Ferdinand. Viele Jahre meines Lebens habe ich im Kinderzimmer meiner Familie gewohnt. Dort stand ein Stockbett am Lichtschalter. Vom oberen Bett aus war der gut zu bedienen, allerdings kam man vom unteren Bett aus nicht ohne Weiteres heran. Meine Aufgabe war es darum, an diesem Lichtschalter zu hängen, damit vom unteren Bett aus bequem an mir gezogen und das Licht betätigt werden konnte.

Mit dem Umzug meiner Familie war diese Aufgabe dann aber hinfällig. Einige Jahre verweilte ich arbeitslos bei ihnen, nun aber möchte ich die Welt bereisen. Zu mir: ich bin ein stubenreiner, pflegeleichter Zwergelefant, höre auf den Namen Ferdinand und freue mich immer über nette Gesellschaft. Sehr dankbar bin ich euch, wenn ihr mich ein Stück mitnehmt und vielleicht beim Loggen ein Foto von mir für meine Familie hinterlasst. Diese wollte mich beinahe nicht gehen lassen, aufgrund der vielen schönen Erinnerungen, die uns verbinden - geht also bitte pfleglich mit mir um!

Hi, my name is Ferdinand. I lived many years of my life in the children’s room with my family. In there, the bunk bed was placed near to the light switch. From the upper bed, you could easily toggle it, but from the lower bed, that was impossible. For this reason, my job was hanging down from the light switch so you could toggle the light from the lower bed by pulling me down.

As my family moved house, I lost this job. I spent some years unemployed with them, however, now I decided that I’d like to travel around the world. About me: I am a small house-trained, easy-care elephant of the name Ferdinand and am always glad about friendly company. Very thankful will I be if you take me with you for some time and perhaps upload a photo of me with your log for my family. They almost didn’t let go of me at all because of the many memories we share - so please take care of me!
