Write note 2/1/2008 skaven posted a note for it   Visit Log

I departed just before Christmas for a trip to Florida to attend a wedding. Took a large number of travel bugs with me to visit all the states I would be traveling to and find a resting place in a warmer climate. The trip down through North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida was a complete bust. Traveling at night, time constraints, weather, and a round of food poisoning did not allow for geocaching. The geo-mobile was rechristened the vomit comet.

No problem – with a few days in the sun I should manage a day of geocaching. Wrong. Visiting the new relations took all of our free time with no chance of slipping away for a few hours. I would have to content myself with a more leisurely drive back with a few geocaches along the way.

Problem is the caches I attempted along the way were, as always, micros. Do not get me wrong, I love micros, but when you are carrying around a sack full of Travel Bugs, you are hoping to find the odd ammo can or Tupperware lunch box. I hate hanging on to Travel Bugs and receiving the inevitable nag message to move them along.

So loaded the travel bugs back in the geo-mobile and headed back to Canada. Found a few caches along the way. Your Travel bug visited GCRZWY, GCQFMC, and GC16M0t along the way. Did not get to stay long but racked up 10,000 km travel time in the process. I will try again in January when I head to Germany. I am sure I can off load some travel bugs there.

After a disappointing geo-expedition to Florida, I though t I would try and redeem myself with another Europtrip Geocaching foray. So I loaded up all the travel bugs and headed overseas, destination Germany. I planned to wrap up some caches in Berlin’s Tiergarten and deposit the Travel Bug hoard that I have accumulated of late. But once again I am thwarted by the proliferation of micros. No caches large enough for Travel Bugs so its back to Canada again where I am passing the whole lot off to Jaypeg. He is heading out of time and has a full day of geocaching slated in his travels. While in Germany your travel bug visited GCGT61, GCVD3J, and GC1136M.Good luck to him. I hope he is able to move these travel bugs along.

I have tried to update the travel bug travel history, but have been unable to do so. I have provided this narrative so that you are aware of where your TB has been in the hopes you may update his travels.
