This is NOT snow, it's the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. This is where all the land speed records are set and many movies are filmed (Johnny Depp in the pirates movie when the stones turn to crabs, The Fastest Indian with Anthony Hopkins, Independents Day with Will Smith, Hulk and Conair with Nicholas Cage).
