I was an Army Brat and my family moved all over the place. One of my fondest memories was living in Berlin Germany. I attended the 2nd - 4th grade at Berlin Elementary School (DoDSS).

We lived about a 1/4 mile from the Berlin wall in a small US Military community in Duppel. My mother, sister and I used to walk down to the wall on occassion and climb a small platform that was built so that a family split by the wall could see each other for brief moments.

Several years later I was once again able to visit Berlin when I was stationed in Germany. This time however, was quite different. I was able to walk through the Brandenburg Gate and set foot in what was once East Berlin. With the fall of the wall several years earlier and the move of the German Capital back to Berlin, it represented a great moment in history. One which I am glad I was able to experience even in smallest of instances.

This coin is being sent out in that memory. Please do not keep this coin, it is meant to move as far as possible in order to share this memory. If it happens to make it to Berlin, Germany during its travels, it would be very happy.

It was with fond memories that i read your coin write up as i was to Germany and BERLIN this year! I can get it back sooner or later but maybe show it to several local cachers at an event next week. The photo is me bike caching through the Brandenburg Gate, Enjoy!
