Ahoy Mateys!  Captain Tessa Rose has an adventurous spirit. She shows no quarter if betrayed by a friend and has a short temper, so don't keep her too long. I finally found a big enough cache to hold my sweet friend Tessa, so I dropped her off. Not a terribly appropriate place, with no pirates or Caribbean seas in sight, it's just on a bike path running along next to the BART track here in Concord, California. But the road is called Port Chicago Highway -- yes, it leads to that Port Chicago, just a few miles north of here -- so maybe someone will pick up Captain Tessa and take here the rest of the way to the port so she can take over a ship and sale herself back to the Caribbean.

Tessa came with me and my lovely assistant and two dogs to wander around downtown Walnut Creek. She spent most of the time scoffing at city life. Good thing we didn't take her to San Francisco! Caches don't grow very big in Walnut Creek, so I wasn't too surprised not to find anything big enough for a duck. I had high hopes for this one because it was listed as a small, but it turned out to be a key holder just like almost every cache we found today.

Back to California, Tessa came with me on a big adventure involving a boat and an island, although I can't tell you any more than that about it. We looked for this one cache which was theoretically along the way, but we couldn't find it.

Even Tessa was getting tired of drink rum, so we all walked down the beach to find yet another EarthCache. The Captain couldn't stop yammering about all she knows about the Tides of the Caribbean. Oh, well, we had fun in the sun, but it's back to California with us, Tessa in tow.

We finally made it to the Caribbean! Tessa enjoyed a week hanging out next to the blue waters of home, including a couple walks up the beach to find this real cache and a couple EarthCaches. This cache was too small to hold the Captain. I was tempted to leave her sitting next to the cache since it was a good place for that, but I decided I couldn't risk her floating off without proper logging, so I kept her with me, and she's still traveling with me back here in California.
