C’est Mouscron à la recherche de son passé.  C’est toute une ville à la découverte de son folklore mais aussi tout un peuple en liesse. Au programme : open de pétanque (3000 joueurs), cortège historique, défilé de géants, jets de Hurlus, braderie…
 
Chaque 1er we d’octobre et cela depuis trois décennies, les Hurlus déferlent sur la ville de Mouscron
 
Mais qui sont ces Hurlus, héros de la fête ? 
Leur origine remonte au XVIème siècle, quand les protestants tentèrent de propager leur religion dans les Flandres.
A Mouscron, traqués par les troupes catholiques, les adeptes de cette nouvelle religion se réfugient au Mont-à-Leux, qui s’appela longtemps le Morit-des-Hurlus, du nom de Hurlus (hurleurs) qu’on leur donne.

It's Mouscron looking for his past. It is a whole city to discover its folklore but also a whole people in jubilation. On the program: open petanque (3000 players), historical procession, parade of giants, hurlus jets, braderie ... Every first week of October and that for three decades, the Hurlus break on the city of Mouscron But who are these Hurlus, heroes of the party? Their origin dates back to the 16th century, when Protestants tried to spread their religion in Flanders. In Mouscron, tracked down by Catholic troops, the followers of this new religion took refuge at Mont-à-Leux, which was long called Morit-des-Hurlus, named Hurlus (howlers) they are given.
