Die Wilde Rose steht als Symbol für die Kanadische Provinz Alberta.

Alberta adoptierte die Wilde Rose (Rosa acicularis) 1930 als ihre offizielle Blume. Der Verfasser eines Artikels einer Zeitung in Edmonton schlug vor, dass für die Provizn ein Blumen-Emblen ausgewählt werden soll. Die Frauen Institute nahmen diesen Vorschlag sofort auf und trugen ihn dem Ausbildungs Departement vor. Woraufhin die Schulkinder von Alberta den endgültigen Entscheid fassten.

Alberta ist eine Provinz im Westen von Kanada. Mit ihrer 2016 geschätzen Bevölkerung von 4,067,175 ist es die viertgrösst bevölkerte Ptovinz, und die grösst bevölkertste der gesamten 3 Kanadische Prärie-Provinzen. Ihre Fläche ist ungefähr 660,000 Quadratkilometer (250,000 sq mi).

Alberta grenzt im Westen an British Kolumbien, im Osten an Saskatchewan, die Nordwest Territories im Norden und an den US Bundesstaat Montana im Süden.

Obwohl die im Süden liegende Stadt, Calgary, grösser ist, ist Edmonton (290 km) nördlich die Hauptstadt von Alberta.

Alberta  adopted the Wild Rose (Rosa acicularis) as its official flower in 1930. The editor of an Edmonton newspaper suggested that a provincial floral emblem be selected. The Women’s Institutes took up the suggestion and passed it on to the Department of Education, and the province’s schoolchildren made the final choice.

Alberta is a western province of Canada. With an estimated population of 4,067,175 as of 2016 census, it is Canada's fourth-most populous province and the most populous of Canada's three prairie provinces. Its area is about 660,000 square kilometres (250,000 sq mi). 

Alberta is bounded by the provinces of British Columbia to the west and Saskatchewan to the east, the Northwest Territories to the north, and the U.S. state of Montana to the south. 

Although the southern city, Calgary is larger, Edmonton (180 mi) north is the Capital of Alberta.
