When my daughter, Merel Jr., was only three ( °1998 ), she was fond of Sesame Street and its puppets. She has a full collection of beanbags: Big Bird, Elmo, Cookiesmonster, Zoe, Bert and Ernie, Oscar, ... more than 24 of them. When the series was 25 year on TV in the Netherlands ( it never went on tele in Belgium ), we even went together to Hoorn ( NL ) to see the special exhibition. Unfortunately we do not have any pictures nor video of it, as everything has been stolen together with the camera's.
In the dutch TV-version, You won't find Big Bird. Pino, a blue version has replaced him. Other local puppets on the show are : Tommie and Ienemiene. So I'd like to send Big Bird on a World Tour to all the countries where Sesame Street is shown on TV to meet the local Puppets there. And please, take a picture of them together with Big Bird at some interesting point or monument in the neighbourhood ! My daughter will enjoy it very much.
Big Bird participated already in the TB race San-Francisco-Belgium !!!! There it was second. Now help her in the race Hong Kong - Belgium. Please bring Big Bird "Merel" ( = dutch for blackbird ;) ) back to it's nesting place in Blankenbergse Fonteintjes ( B ). Big Bird would fly by itself but some help in the good direction is welcome ! Attention : at least three caches must be done !

Toen mijn dochter, Merel Jr., nog drie jaar was (°1998), was ze dol op de figuren uit Sesamstraat. Ze heeft dan ook een hele collectie van beanbags met al de figuren uit de populaire serie : Big Bird, Elmo, Koekjesmonster, Zoe, Bert en Ernie, Oscar … meer dan 24 verschillende figuren. Toen in Nederland de serie 25 jaar op TV in Nederland was ( in Belgie werd deze serie jammerlijk genoeg nooit vertoond ) , en toen dat gevierd werd, zijn we zelfs naar de tentoonstelling in Hoorn ( NL ) gaan zien. Jammerlijk genoeg hebben we daar geen foto’s of film meer van omdat deze samen met de toestellen gestolen werden tijdens een inbraak in ons huis. Nu amuseert Merel Jr. zich nog steeds met de educatieve computerspelletjes van Sesamstraat waar Big Bird een prominente rol speelt.
Big Bird is in de Nederlandse TV versie niet aanwezig maar werd er vervangen door een blauwe versie: Pino. En andere figuren zoals Tommie en Ienemiene stelen er ook de show. Daarom zou ik na de race Big Bird op wereldreis willen zenden naar alle landen waar Sesamstraat vertoond wordt om er kennis te maken met de lokale figuren. Een groepsfoto bij een gekend monument of landschap mag altijd !
In de TB Race San Francisco-Belgium was Big Bird tweede. Nu zien we Big Bird graag de TB Race Hong Kong - Belgium winnen !!!!! Help Big Bird "Merel” terug naar zijn nest in de Blankenbergse Fonteintjes ( B ).
Big Bird "Merel" zou zelf wel vliegen maar elke hulp in the goede richting is welkom ! Let op : de TB moet minstens drie andere caches passeren. |  |
