In 1941, a small automobile manufacturing company named Willys-Overland was contracted by the United States Military to produce off-road vehicles for use in the inevitable war. This vehicle was referred to as the Willys MB (for "Military" model "B"). Willys continued to perfect it's designs, eventually adopting the term "Jeep" as a brand name. In 2004, Jeep decided to honor this heritage with a limited run of "special edition" Jeeps, producing 1,997 in 2004, and continuing the run in 2005, producing 2,001. The name of this travel bug (41MB-05TJ) is a reference to the honor that Jeep gives it's heritage (in the 41MB), while also noting what Jeep has become today (05TJ)
