I don't know whether it's true or not - but my friends who worked in Alaska over the summer when we were in high schoool told me that it's actually illegal in Alaska to NOT pick up a hitchhiker. In theory, this is something I could verify fairly easily - - but in all candor, I prefer to simply believe it. The underlying idea of community, of us=-against-the-inhospitable-environment, and, most of all, the idea that a stranger on the road should be entitled to a ride - these were ideas that made Alaska seem as much like another world as much as another State.
So this Trackable's mission is to remind people that sometimes a change in latitude is truly a change in attitude. Move this Tracakable along and try to find places that excite the imagination as much as they require few extra steps off the beaten path . . .
This is a fairly heavy coin, two inches in diameter. It's not going to fit in a micro . . .
