Current Goal

To visit as many caches and dinosaur parks/museums than his two other friends (Sue & Jane) before the end of 2010. Stan would really like to see the actual "Stan" at the Black Hills Museum of Natural history @ Hill City, South Dakota.

About This Item

 I AM STAN~The Tyrant Lizard

I represent the actual fossil of "Stan A T.REX" discovered in 1987 and excavated in 1992 near Buffalo, South Dakota by Stan Sacrison. STAN FACTS: He is 70% complete making it the second most completed T.Rex (after - "A T Rex named Sue") ~ He has 199 bones ~ the best fossilized skull found of the Theropod family and it is virtually complete ~ 58 teeth with some measuring 11.5" long ~ Believed to be of the male gender ~ He has healed puncture markings of injuries to his skull / one wound to the back of the skull is a perfect match for another T.REX tooth ~ Also evidence of a broken neck that had mended ~ cause of death unknown. **The T.REX was the top predator of dinosaurs in the late Cretaceous Period 65 million years ago. They had the largest brain, keenest eyesight and smell. They could weigh as much as 7.5 tons and measure 43 feet in length and 16 feet in height from just the ground to the hip. They had serrated teeth, growing new ones every few years throughout their life and their bite force was the greatest. They are one of the largest land carnivores of all time.**
