Chibi Monster Migration Race - Snaily

It's migration time! Eight adorable little monsters from the Dragon Quest series of videogames are tired of the cold, windy weather in Seattle and have decided to vacation somewhere a bit warmer... Florida! Together, they picked a nice, roomy cache near the beaches of St. Petersburg, and they'd all like to check in there and enjoy a bit of sun before returning to the Pacific Northwest.

Now, as you may know, monsters love roadside attractions, souvenier shops, photo opportunities, and other touristy stuff, but these eight buddies just couldn't decide on which ones to visit along the way. (It was quite an argument.) In the end, each monster chose two different things he'd like to do while on vacation: one on the way to Florida, and one on the way home to Washington. Still feeling a bit annoyed with each other, they also decided to turn their migration into a race. The first chibi monster to accomplish both of his tourism goals, check into the designated cache in Florida, and return to his home cache in Washington will win... the right to choose all the destination spots on next year's vacation!

Snaily's Vacation Itinerary
Unlike his seven migratory pals, Snaily prefers natural wonders to man-made sites. So he's hoping for a bit of awe, inspiration, and natural beauty on his vacation.

Southbound tourism goal:
To be photographed at a popular outdoorsy tourist spot such as the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, or Niagra Falls
Date achieved: 6/15/07 - thanks, emandel, for showing him the magnificence of Bryce and Zion in Utah!

Florida destination cache:
The marvelously named Schrodinger's Cat near St. Petersburg, Florida or any other cache within a 5-mile radius if Schrodinger's happens to be unavailable
Date arrived: 1/9/08 - amazing! From New York all the way to Schodinger's Cat in Florida. This little snail is on the move!

Northbound tourism goal:
To be photographed at a more obscure but equally beautiful outdoorsy spot, such as the waterfall and hidden lake you and your buddy found last summer way up in the mountains
Date achieved: not yet!

Return to home cache:
The luxurious MS-Bug Hotel in Redmond, Washington
