This Travel Bug is a Turkish "nazar-boncuk" (pronounced "bonjuk"), or "Evil-Eye amulet," which is supposed to ward off the dangerous effects of the Evil Eye. I got it as a souvenir in Istanbul, where it accompanied me on my successful effort to be First-To-Find for the new cache "Lover's Lane" in Gulhane Park outside Topkapi Palace. The name comes from the lyrics of a 1950s novelty song: "You can't go back to Constantinople, 'cause it's Istanbul, not Constantinople!"
