I am Gypaete Barbu from the Czech Republic. I´´´´´´ ve been following Teddy for many years.
Besides having travelled some 70000 miles all over the world it has a very special history for me.
I discovered Teddy in Prague back in 2013. It was wet, dirty and torn at the back. I mended it and after some time I took it to New Zealand. I placed it in a cache under a tree by the lake in Te Anau, Fiordland. It is quite a remote place in the South Island - the most beautiful place you can imagine. At night more stars could be seen in the sky than I had ever seen before - there was virtually no light smog. From New Zealand Teddy travelled to French Polynesia and after a short time to Norway. From there someone took to it back to Czechia where it was travelling for nearly two years. I would have liked to discover it again but I missed it when it could be found in one of Prague caches. In 2015 it was taken to Germany, and Poland and then back to my country. It travelled in the north for a short time and then it was taken to Canada where it disappeared in 2018. I thought it was lost forever, but I got a surprising message recently - after more than 2 years it has been discovered :-). I am very happy Teddy is still "alive". Whoever may find it, look after it well, please, there aren´´ t many travel bugs like this one.
