Current Goal

Eric and his family were left behind when his guardians visited Sweden in June 2007. He now wants to travel home, which is to Frenchs Forest, just north of Sydney, NSW, in Australia.

About This Item

The Echidna is a solitary mammal that lives in Australia and New Guinea. It has a very sensitive nose, used to find food, and long, sharp claws used to retrieve the food. It eats mainly ants, worms and small insects.
The female lays a single egg which it carries in its pouch where it is hatched after ten days.
