I want to travel to the Moab desert and do a little rock crawling with the bad boys of Jeeps. I want to have pictures taken of my Moab adventure and with other Jeeps I encounter on the way. Please upload the pictures to my web page. There is an example picture on my web page now for you to see.
I used to be attached to the end of a tow strap owned by 3card. However 3card took a wrong turn with his Jeep one morning while caching and I was put to use. However I was used and abused by 3card and BearLeader as they attempted to undo the wrong turn made by 3card. 3card's version of the story is below. There are also pictures on my web page showing the scene of the unfortunate turn of events and some evidence left behind.

Today’s episode just proves that it can be “Monday” no matter where you are. I decided to run down the road and pick up this jewel of a cache before going in this morning. I’m thinking…..”a quick ride, short hike off the service roads, and an easy FTF”. Again, let me stress that it was “Monday” everywhere! As I pull up to locked gates, I notice another “line” trail down a hill just around the tree line. So next thing I know, I’m blazing down the hill to see if I can drive closer to the coords. This proves to be a no-go, so I turn around. Just a simple little 3-point turn around and go. Simple, turn around, and go. Simple. Umm. Go. Errr, um,……. No, I think that should read NO. NO simple, NO GO!!!. Today’s “quick grab” just turned into “The Abyss: Part Deux”. (I wish I had taken pictures now!) I found that a portion of the area I was turning around in, can and will, quickly swallow Jeeps for breakfast! Just as DrFred had called me for help last week, I called BearLeader for help today. BearLeader to the rescue!!! BearLeader shows up with his Jeep, we have a few laughs about said predicament, and then begin the recovery. And this was no easy task! “Easing” out of the gravel/water/mud combination did not prove successful. More drastic measures were needed, so we try “snatching” my baby out of her situation. This technique shows us that nylon tow straps “do” snap like one of Pete Townshend’s over wound guitar strings ……..TWO TIMES!!!! Finally, we tie off BearLeader’s Jeep to the base of a pine tree and wind the wench cable out. Attach cable and here she goes, crawling back to the world of the “Magic Bus”. Who says you can’t “ease” her out with success? So I figure I’m “this” late, what’s another 20 minutes going to matter? Park the now mud covered Jeep off to the side of the road and make the quick hike for a VERY HARD FOUGHT FTF……..HAZZAH!!! FTF!!! I just don’t know who I was fighting with….
Thanks NovaEagle, for the GREAT cache site and cache. I had never been here before and thought it was a really cool area. Thanks for showing it to me!
A great big HAZZAH goes out to BearLeader for coming to the rescue! I owe you one man! Shady-Lady wanted me to thank you as well!
