Moose Encounter

I have had 3 close moose encounters in the past years. The first encounter was near Kananaskis Village when I suddenly biked past a huge moose grazing beside a downhill trail. The second was while hiking at dusk in Cypress Hill Provincial Park in Saskatchewan. We almost walked right under him; he was so tall and appeared on the trail from out of nowhere. The third was also in Kananaskis while skiing to Blueberry Hill. Every encounter has remained with me.

We've never seen moose before - unless you count the one on the kids movie 'Open Season.' There are plenty of elk in New Zealand, and some hunters will still tell you there are moose in Fiordland but I'm not convinced! I'll try and get this one further south, so that if there are some moose down there they can catch up.
