The Mission of this "Discover the Forest" TB is to travel from place to place, hopefully to include any forest or park. The hope is that cachers will read and understand the importance of our national forests and trail systems. Please keep this one moving throughout the US.

Discover the Forest is a national public service advertising (PSA) campaign led by the U.S. Forest Service and the Ad Council. Discover the Forest aims to inspire tweens (aged 8-12) and their parents to reconnect with nature, experiencing it firsthand. The campaign brings to life the joy and excitement kids have when they discover the wonders of nature, helping create interest in their environment and a lifelong relationship with it.

The National Trails System 50th Anniversaary Hiking Stick Mediallion celebrates the 1965 "Natural Beauty Message" to Congress, President Lyndon B. Johnson inspired a national "system of trails"for the American people. In 2018, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the birth of our National Trails System and our Wild and Scenic Rivers System.
