To travel around America. It's small enough to fit in some micro-caches.
These are actual British coins that we brought back from a trip to London. We've all heard of the British "pound" and the "tupence" (two pence) but many Americans have probably never seen either. I rather liked the compact size and unique proportion of the pound coin. Unlike the USA dollar coin, it wasn't prone to be mistaken for a coin of lower value. A couple of pounds would always afford you an imperial pint of ale and some change when we were there ten years ago. So a pocket full of pounds would make for a refreshing evening on the streets of London.
It seems to me that the tupence was exchanged frequently in the tale of "Oliver Twist", so I hung one on as well; it won't buy you much in London anymore...
