Originated in Mexico, the Day of the Dead (Dia de Muertos) is a holiday that is celebrated around the globe. Celebrations take place November 1 – 2 in connection with All Hallows Eve. Friends and family will gather together to pray and to remember those who have died. Traditions that are often known with this holiday include creating altars with sugar skulls, marigolds, and the deceased’s favorite treats! This silver coloured coin shows intricate engraving of a skull �� in honour of the Day of the Dead.
